Britannia Platinum Bullion Coins
The Royal Mint first released the Platinum Britannia Bullion Coin in 2018. Britannia has assumed the status of an immortal having been an enduring feature of British coinage for almost 300 years. The Platinum Britannia has a purity level at .9995 fine and are minted at The Royal Mint. In 2021, the British Royal Mint added four new design elements as additional security features. The first element is a special wave design on the coin’s background, which catches the light on the coin’s surface. The second element is the addition of smooth lines on Britannia’s shield. The third is a holographic image of a padlock in the bottom left, which transforms to a trident when you tilt the coin. Lastly, the almost imperceptible Latin phrase “Decus Et Tutamen” along the inner rim of the coin.

Obverse: His Majesty King Charles III with guilloche background design. Inscriptions include CHARLES III, D.G. REX. F.D. and 100 POUNDS.

Reverse: Showcases Britannia holding a trident and shield so closely associated with British nationalism and pride. Inscriptions include BRITANNIA, 1 oz, 999.5 PLATINUM and 2025.
